Conceived using the latest in calculation and simulation software, the design and wall thickness have been made for minimum weight at optimum stiffness and precisely defined flexibility. In addition it features a robust 2-compound chain guide similar to the full-size models. WHEELSLike the big KTM factory racers, the 50 SX has super lightweight, black anodized, aluminum rims providing highest strength and safety. The OEM knobbly MAXXIS tires grip superbly on any surface. FRONT SUSPENSIONThe new 50 SX is the first model in its class fitted with a modern, fully adjustable air fork: the AER 35, made by WP Suspension. Beside a massive weight reduction of 1.6 pounds, the newly developed upside-down front forks with 35mm tube diameter and 205mm of travel ensure outstanding comfort, damping characteristics and directional stability. Another main benefit for junior riders is that the air spring fitted in the left fork leg can be adjusted perfectly and simply to the rider s weight just with an air fork pump. REAR SUSPENSIONOn the rear wheel a WP monoshock linked directly to the swingarm provides excellent damping performance and is now fully adjustable in order set the damping perfectly to rider s preferences and track conditions. The rear wheel travel is 185mm. This ensures the best deceleration and the highest standard. ENGINEThe modern, extremely compact 2-stroke engine fitted with an automatic clutch sets the standard in its class with improved power and power band due to a new exhaust pipe. 2017 KTM 350 SX-F, 2017 KTM 350 SX-F THE ULTIMATE COMBO Since Tony Cairoli first took a 350 SX-F to the top of the MX1 World Championship in 2010, the Red Bull KTM athlete has dominated the cl*** aboard this nimble but powerful bike with five consecutive World Championship titles. No surprises here, with the combination of 450-cl*** muscle and the agility of a 250. Features may include: 99.8 KGThe main target for the KTM engineers when developing the SX models was a m***ive weight reduction compared to the previous generation. The result: the current SX-F models are the slimmest, lightest bikes on the track. Even though the 4-strokes are equipped with an electric starter as a standard feature, while the competition still needs to be kick started, the SX-F line weigh in pounds less. The large twin-air filter is mounted in a stiff cage, which at the same time holds the system in place. FRAMEThe high-tech, lightweight chrome-moly steel frame is engineered for excellent handling, precise cornering and supreme stability. In short: more comfort and less rider fatigue. Laterally attached, lightweight engine head stays contribute to a reduced vibration level. Two threaded inserts in the lower cradle tubes allow for an optional skid plate. The engineers were able to pull off all that, while making the frame two pounds lighter than that of the lightest competitor on the market. In addition, the frame is easier to maintain, easier to work on and supplies more space for the tank and other components. The bike also features an extra-light aluminum subframe, which weighs in at less than 2 pounds. FOOTPEGSSophisticated ´No Dirt´ footpegs prevent clogging of the footpeg pivot, even when digging in deep ruts. Then just mount the footpegs of the MY2017 EXC models, which are 6mm higher than the SX versions. These high-tech Brembo babies are combined with lightweight wave discs made by Galfer. HANDLEBARKTM engineers sure know how to handle handlebars. This tapered one, made of high-strength aluminum by NEKEN, is fixed in damped rubber mounts and has two different positions.
